THEO Walcott married his childhood sweetheart yesterday at a castle in Florence.
Several Arsenal team-mates saw him tie the knot with stunning Melanie Slade in the capital of the Italian region of Tuscany.
They included Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey and Thomas Vermaelen, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain flying in on easyJet.
England winger Theo, 24, and Mel, 23, requested NO gifts from guests at the fairytale ceremony at Castello Di Vincigliata.
They asked instead for donations to the Willow Foundation, set up by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson to help seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds, and Macmillan Cancer Support after Melanie’s sister Sarah was diagnosed with kidney cancer at 16.
Theo and Melanie are seen as one of football’s most solid couples.
Even on his Las Vegas stag do, he chose to get an early night.
The pair met in 2004 at WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton, where his career began.
A friend said: “They fell in love before all the fame, and that has laid a strong foundation.”
The wedding rights were sold to a magazine.
