HIV+ Woman Caught Breastfeeding Neighbour’s Baby

A Zimbabwean woman who breastfed a neighbour’s baby without her consent faces a possible two-year sentence for deliberately infecting another person with HIV after she tested positive.

39-year-old Annie Mpariwa appeared in court on Wednesday … the case was deferred to October 24 to allow a second HIV test to be performed on the toddler. The child’s initial results were negative. Mpariwa was arrested last week on charges of common nuisance and should the child test positive; the charge will be raised to “deliberately infecting another person with HIV”.
The mother of the 14-month-old baby said seeing her child being breastfed by her neighbour was traumatizing.

Cheating Couple Disgraced Publicly In Benue State, Stripped Naked

According to reports, the couple (pictured above) were forced to walk Unclad on Thursday 19th September at Orokam, Obadigbo Local Government area of Benue State.

The woman is said to be the wife of a popular school proprietor in the area -the porpietor passed on Tuesday and barely two days after she was caught with another man.

After being caught, they were taken to the town’s oracle – oracle called “ALEKWU” which punishes married women who cheat on their husbands and also deters people from committing atrocities.

A Pregnant Woman Lifting Weights: Is This Safe?

Lea-Anne Ellison, 35, sparked an online firestorm after pictures of the 8 1/2-month pregnant mom lifting weights were posted on Facebook.

“8 months pregnant with baby number 3 and CrossFit has been my sanity,” Ellison wrote in the caption. “I have been CrossFitting for 2 1/2 years and...strongly believe that
pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body’s capabilities to kick Bottom.”

But a slew of commenters posted angry greivances on the picture — which boasted more than 16,000 likes and almost 3,000 shares by Friday morning.

Some brides skip having bridesmaids because they are so concerned about hurting their loved ones' feelings. Katie Dalby, 26, chose another route for her wedding to firefighter Norman Gooch on Saturday: She brought along 80 attendants. 

When Dalby, who owns Katie's Boogie Shoes Dance Academy in Harwich, England, told her students about her engagement over a year ago, she says they were superexcited and some were begging to be included in the wedding. 

"It just couldn't have been fair to choose two or three of them," Dalby told the Daily Mail. "So the only solution was to invite 74 of them-I didn't want to exclude anyone." She also asked her best friend, three sisters-in-law, a niece, and a cousin. "It made my day more special."

Another Nigerian Caught In UK Sham Marriage

This is the dramatic moment home office investigators put a stop to a sham marriage just minutes before the bride and groom exchanged their vows.

Nigerian Chinedu Amadi arrived at Leicester Registry Office to marry a complete stranger - Hungarian national Szilvia Basco-Porkolab, who donned a traditional white wedding gown for the occasion.

But unbeknown to them Home Office investigators who were tipped off by a suspicious registrar  and lay in wait in a side room for the pair to arrive.

Drama In Edo: Teacher Can't Read Her Document

The verification of certificates of primary school teachers in Edo State ordered by Governor Adams Oshiomhole has started fishing out unworthy teachers, with the discovery of one on Tuesday, who could not read a sworn affidavit tendered as part of her credentials.

The teacher, Mrs. Augusta Odemwinge of Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state stuttered as she was asked to read what was written on her affidavit before the state governor.
Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled visit to the state Staff Training Centre, venue of the exercise, said “if you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils, what do you write on the board?”

The governor had on arrival at the centre, checked some of the teachers’ credentials and documents presented.

Soldiers Attack Policemen In Delta

PANDEMONIUM broke out, Monday, in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, as soldiers attacked and injured police officers from Delta State Police Command, who were on escort duty with the state Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Anthonia Ashiedu.

The soldiers beat a police corporal, who drove one of the police vehicles, to pulp for allegedly blaring siren in the premises of the Warri North Local Government Council, which is close to a military outpost.

The corporal fainted because of the severe beating and was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
At press time, junior police police officers were spoiling for a showdown with soldiers in the state, saying it has become a tradition for soldiers to attack police officers in the state without justifiable reason.
State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, confirmed to Vanguard when contacted, saying the soldiers accused the police officers of blaring siren inside the secretariat of the council.

Dead, Retired Teachers Collect Salaries In Edo

Shocking revelation emerged on Wednesday why the board of the State Universal Basic Education Board was dissolved and former commissioner for Education, Ekpenisi Omorotiomwan sacked.

We have gathered that dead teachers including those that have retired, sacked or absconded from duty were still “collecting” salaries.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who made this disclosure at an education summit to find solution to the problem in primary education in the state, said he discovered that the wage bill for teachers in the state was static.

 He said money for the salaries of retired teachers and those that died was not accounted for. The governor, who caused uproar in the hall when he announced that teachers were paid higher wages than their counterparts in the civil service threatened to publish the teachers’ salaries.

11-year-old Girl Set Ablaze By Her Guardian In Lagos For Stealing Meat

Doctors at the General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, are seriously battling to save the life of an 11-year old girl, Ita Bassey-Eno, who was allegedly set ablaze by the woman she lives with, Mrs Nkese Iroakazi, a nurse at a hospital in Surulere.

Iroakazi was alleged to have poured kerosene on Bassey-Eno before lighting a match stick to set her ablaze after the girl was said to have stolen a piece of meat from the pot.

Witnesses said the girl ran out of their apartment at 7, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, unto to the main road with fire all over her body as she cried for help from passers-by to rescue her.

It was gathered that someone quickly stopped his vehicle and used his fire extinguisher to put out the flame on her body.

Sara al-Amoudi, 30, is accused of being a former prostitute who swindled Amanda Clutterbuck, 56, and Ian Paton, 45, out of luxury flats in Knightsbridge and Chelsea by masquerading as royalty.

She is said to have boasted of 'limitless wealth' and even convinced HSBC to lend her £4m, while a statement from Barclays suggested she had £165m in her account.

The 'princess' denies the allegations and told the judge that she can prove her wealth is genuine with pictures of her enormous shopping sprees.
